Clutch replacement
Slipping, juddering or a heavy pedal? We fit clutch kits, dual-mass flywheels and slave cylinders on cars and vans.
Get a clutch quote
Enter your registration, tick the clutch and anything you would like priced with it (flywheel, slave cylinder, master cylinder or cable). We check the right parts for your vehicle and send you a quote. Nothing is booked or charged until you say yes.
More than just a clutch kit
To replace a clutch the gearbox has to come out, so it makes sense to check and change the parts that wear with it at the same time. That saves paying for the same labour twice. We tell you what we find and price it before we fit anything.
Clutch kit
The friction plate, pressure plate (cover) and release bearing. Usually supplied and fitted as a set.
AlwaysDual-mass flywheel
Fitted to most diesels and many petrol cars. It wears with the clutch and can cause rattles and judder. We check it and price it if it needs replacing.
CheckedSolid flywheel
Some cars have a solid flywheel. It may only need skimming or checking, not replacing.
CheckedSlave cylinder / release bearing
On many cars it sits inside the bell housing (a concentric slave cylinder), so it is cheaper to change while the gearbox is out.
AdvisedMaster cylinder and fluid
If the pedal sticks, sinks to the floor or the fluid leaks, the master cylinder may need replacing and the system bleeding.
If neededClutch cable
Older and smaller cars use a cable instead of hydraulics. A stretched or fraying cable is replaced at the same time.
If fittedGearbox oil and seals
With the gearbox out we check for oil leaks from the engine and gearbox seals, as an oily clutch soon fails again.
CheckedRoad test
Every clutch is adjusted (where needed) and road tested before you collect your vehicle.

Questions
What are the signs of a worn clutch?
The engine revving without the car speeding up (slipping), a high biting point, juddering when pulling away, a heavy pedal or a noise when the pedal is pressed.
Do I need a new flywheel with my clutch?
Not always. Many cars have a dual-mass flywheel that wears with the clutch. We check it when the gearbox is out and only replace it if it is worn, with your OK first.
Should the slave cylinder be changed at the same time?
On many cars the slave cylinder sits inside the gearbox bell housing, so changing it with the clutch saves paying for the same labour again later. We will advise.
How do I get a clutch price?
Enter your registration in the quote box on this page and tick anything you would like priced. We check the parts for your vehicle and send you a quote.
What warranty do I get?
Every part we fit has at least a 12-month warranty against failure. Premium parts come with 24 months.
Do you replace clutches on vans?
Yes, we replace clutches on cars and vans.
How long does a clutch replacement take?
It depends on the vehicle. Many are done in a day; we will tell you when you book.
