Who we are

What we collect and why
When you book, ask for a price or send us a message, we collect your name, phone number, email, your vehicle’s registration and details, and anything you tell us. We use them to look up your vehicle, price and arrange the work, and contact you about it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and the contract itself.
If you tick the reminders box, we will also send you MOT and service reminders. That is based on your consent, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Who else sees it
We look up your registration with a vehicle data provider and our parts supplier to get the right parts and prices. Our booking system and email provider store the details for us. Our booking system is hosted in the European Union (Sweden), which UK data protection law recognises as giving the same level of protection, and our email provider may handle emails in the USA under UK-approved safeguards. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also covered by WhatsApp’s own terms. We do not sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
This website
Our website host counts visits to help us see which pages are useful. The visit counter does not use cookies and does not identify you. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam, which checks your browser is not a robot. This and our host’s security check may store a small amount of information needed to keep the site safe. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to accept.
How long we keep it
Vehicle lookups are deleted after 3 days. Booking and job records are kept for 6 years, as required for our tax records.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details by contacting us at info@madeleytestingstation.co.uk or 01952 588005. If you are unhappy with how we have handled them, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
