Welding and the MOT
Rust on its own is not always a fail. It becomes an MOT failure when it weakens the structure, especially within 30 cm of important mounting points such as seat belt anchorages, steering and suspension mounts. Sills, floor pans and subframe mounts are common problem areas on older cars and vans.
- Inspect. We look at the corrosion properly, as it is often worse once the surface is cleaned back.
- Price. You get a price before any welding starts.
- Repair. We cut out the weak metal and weld in new steel, then protect the repair.
- Retest. If your vehicle failed its MOT with us and comes back within 10 working days, the retest is free.
